CREATRIX 2
[CREATRIX 2]
Creating with more intention -
The Art we make-
is not just about creating an image
to be viewed upon.
We can place within them-
endless amounts of meaning
and intentions for our creation process,
as well as the creation itself.
We do this with the power of symbols.
Symbols are the language of the subconscious mind,
and I love using art to send messages to my subconscious.
Especially as a form of healing
and moving through mental blocks.
I am sure that we have all experienced our own
fair share of limitations-
ones that may not even belong to us
but have been handed down during developmental years.
In adulthood, we want to live free, be our dreams,
and try new things,
but sometimes cycles can play a role
and hold us hostage from stepping beyond the familiar.
These patterns all operate out of the subconscious mind,
the subconscious mind is giving to us
exactly what it has been programmed to show us.
That’s why we need to “create” something out of the box,
write a different narrative,
paint a different picture.
We have to set ourselves free every day,
and it is useful to create a reminder for yourself,
an image,
a symbol.
Symbols have been used throughout all of human history,
we used to mainly communicate through symbols,
drawing it out,
telling stories on cave walls,
and giving birth to the origin of art.
The old alchemists relied heavily upon these symbols
to encase their knowledge-
a single position of a specific hand
can encapsulate layers upon layers of meaning, wisdom,
and instructions-
these symbols fill the collective unconscious,
weather we realize it or not,
they are used everywhere,
placed in everything-
from modern logos
to ancient hieroglyphs,
and they do not die-
they live forever,
dwelling in the realm of the subconscious.
We can be our own Alchemists
by the creation of art and symbols,
and applying meaning, purpose, and functions to them-
we could even say that we are creating
our own sort of magic sigils
or activation codes…
Tell yourself whatever concept that you are most likely to believe in.
For with all of magick, and life, we know that our belief is a necessity to fuel manifestation.
Let me give you an example of how to go about this,
by using my most recent creation,
“CREATRIX”
There was an important reprogramming
that I wanted to convey to myself here-
I wanted to make a visual narration
of a creation myth,
that would be symbolized with a woman at the center of it,
not a man.
The woman is depicted in this image
as the creator of the earth and heavens.
From within her, all of life flows-
-A recent epiphany that remains in my mind…
I had always been told stories of an old, bearded, white man, who created the earth in seven days.
Now, in my early womanhood,
I realize that God transcends all manner of gender; however, if we were to symbolize God with a gender,
it would be a woman.
It is because of women that all of humanity exists,
as it is because of the feminine that all of life exists.
This is the much-needed folk-tale justification that I am portraying in my piece, CREATRIX.
A rewriting of old narratives,
giving my subconscious a fresh image
that I can understand the world with.

Another new narrative that I had weaved with symbols
is that I am beautiful…
I used myself as my own muse,
and wove around her
all the things that I deem beautiful in nature.
crescent moons and flowers
sunsets and rolling mountains
all held within my being-
for without my body,
none of those things would ever exist to me-
none at all.
I have been struggling a lot with self-image
and the way I have been taught to view my body.
Beauty had always been portrayed to me as fair and dainty,
and this caused me to reject my dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin, and muscular build.
Beauty standard depictions
had me convinced
that the way my body was constructed
was not womanly enough...
This pain has sparked my healing
to reclaim the divine feminine within,
heal her,
and embrace my womanhood-
which is the exact opposite of what I was conditioned to do!
- this is when we must call upon
our soulful rebel archetype,
and reclaim what is our birthright
This aspect of my healing journey
fueled the reasoning for depicting the Creatrix
in my own image,
and when I look at that drawing now,
I think to myself-
“wow, I am really beautiful”
and I feel those words
like sweet honey swelling in my heart.
The creation of CREATRIX
had become a key shift on my healing journey,
and I highly suggest that you try something similar-
be your own muse –
create an art piece that symbolizes your own beauty –
and gift it to yourself as an offering for healing –
With art
we can be honest with ourselves,
you almost HAVE to-
as you create
it guided meditation
where you become aware of the thoughts passing by you,
and you observe how they make you feel inside.
I certainly questioned my own beauty, power, and capabilities throughout the whole creation process of CREATRIX.
(I am familiar with the “blocked artist” trying to perpetuate her disposition)
Nonetheless, I prevailed, and moved through the discomfort.
I leaned more closely into my passion,
as I knew its fire would burn through all fear present.
The process of creation keeps us mindful, open,
always listening for the next bit of inspiration, insight, and wisdom
that might lead to our next breakthrough.
Now that we know the full power of our creativity and creations, we can now use it to guide ourselves through –
- self-limitations
- negative self-talk
- mental blocks
- cycles / patterns / habits
- imposter syndrome
- and all the other bullshit that keeps us from stepping into our full embodiment!
❥ with one art piece at a time
we will take our hands
mend the wet clay
that is the present day-
and shape our life
with love as our only muse ❥
