CREATRIX

 CREATRIX

goddess of darkness

roller of heads

bear me in your womb

bare me as your fruit

of labor and pleasure

transpose

ego

with

soul

Both my poem and art piece are titled “CREATRIX”

The poem came to me first, and I have been using it as a kind of prayer

or summonance of sorts.

I can certainly say that every time I read/speak the poem, or look at the painting –

it sends a healing presence

like it is reminding me of something – my power for one

When we use our creative force, we can do anything,

anything that we can imagine is impossible,

if we have the will to create it.

So – we call upon the Creatrix herself,

the Creatrix within us all,

for we are all creators.

It is our passion, it is what we are called to do as humans,

we long to create something as offering for this planet, Gaia –

so apart of us can live on in a much larger cycle.

ART creates change, transformation, especially that of consciousness.

Art shifts the worlds within and around us.

Our art comes directly from the heart-

it creates an opening from within and connects it to the rest of the world-

like a portal.

When a feeling within [the song of spirit] is

physically manifested – it is now visible – face to face –

an interpersonal connection between the creator and her creation –

When we create, we are calling upon our Creatrix’s /Creator’s power, and allow it to flow through us.

The visual art piece above, when I began working with it,

I was fully unaware of what the meaning/concept of it was.

I had to experience the process of creation to be gifted insight and clarity.

(Reminds me of the creation process of Life)

My dedication – offering of energy - to the project

gave plenty of inspiration fuel, so I could wander in imagination

and open more and more doors of possibility.

It then takes on a life of its own, becoming a natural flowing, synchronized force of creativity.

~the flow state~

Which was a current that I used to really toss and turn and struggle with for some time, especially with painting –

something I always loved and had a natural ability for,

but I feared my gift – scared of my potential.

Art is something that helps me work through my crippling ‘imposter syndrome,’

because, well, once you create something,

its indefinitely there.

It is standing proof, smacking you in the face, keeping you wide awake– the power it holds is undeniable

and you can no longer gas light your own abilities.

From the perspective of being an art teacher, I can tell you that most people came into my class expecting the worse.

I’ve seen belief blocks holding some people’s creative expression hostage. Also, let me explain to you that these were vivacious, soulful, intelligent women, and I saw all kinds of potential in them.

For some reason, there is a soul-crippling voice coming from within our society that says, “you can’t make any money off of making art,” “well, that’s just a waste of time, you should be putting that energy into something else,” or just simply being told “we are not good enough,” can do long-lasting damage to our creative potential.

These are the exact limiting believes that we need to cut through by just DOING THE DAMN THING

and caring less about what others think.

-                          choose yourself                          -

To fully access your flow state, you must let the inner critique come and go, without down spiraling into negative self-talk,

because let me tell you,

your spirit will be zipping out the door at the first gun shot from an inner war.

All your spirit wants to do is just let go and have some fun, express the pent-up passion you have been keeping hidden!

So, when you create – imagine it as your own personal ‘wacky madhouse,’ where you can go for your wildest ideas –

THERE ARE NO LIMITS

put yourself on the edge of what you know,

leap beyond the familiar.

Travel to unknown lands of the being within,

from dark to light.

For some reason, we see art as a ‘side hustle’ or hobby in life, when really,

art IS life.

Art is what makes life worth living,

to have your soul be orchestrated into an experience

that lifts you from the very ground you once stood.

That is what art is all about,

it’s the language of the soul.

As the inner Creatrix would teach us -

you live to create

to create is to understand

so, create

not for perfection

not for accolades

not for approval

create to understand yourself

reveal an image from deep beneath

paint

and watch the bones of past lives

rise from the ashes

in an abstract rememberance

art is not just putting color on canvas

it is presence

it is meditation

it is healing

it is transcendence

we do not create to achieve standards

we create to achieve other dimensions

open doorways of consciousness

and manifest new worlds
